Fred W. Thiele Jr. is a lifelong Sag Harbor resident and longtime public servant whose career in government and community advocacy has spanned more than four decades. He served in the New York State Assembly from 1995 to 2024, representing the East End and championing initiatives focused on land preservation, water quality, historic preservation, affordable housing, and smart community planning.
Prior to his service in the Assembly, he served as Southampton Town Supervisor and as a member of the Suffolk County Legislature. A graduate of Southampton College and Albany Law School, Fred has long been recognized for his commitment to protecting the character, environmental health, and historic resources of the East End communities he has called home his entire life.
